$237,500 Union Laborer Workers Compensation Settlement

While cutting grass with a push lawnmower at a angle on a river bank, the mower slid sideways and down the embankment.  While attempting to stop the movement of the lawnmower, claimant’s foot got caught on a clump of dirt, causing an injury to his knee.  A year and a half later, the claimant slipped on ice and the same knee landed on concrete, injuring it again.

“Since the claimant had two separate work injuries to the same body part, we filed two claims at the Workers Compensation Commission”, said lawyer Douglas Rallo of Libertyville.  “Once the cases were on file, we made a motion to consolidate them, so that both cases would be heard by a single judge”.

Once his medical care was completed, claimant received work restrictions which impaired his ability to do his former job.  “Because of those restrictions, we were able to settle the claim for $237,500.”
